Cordelta is proud to be a branch partner of the Canberra chapter of the International Institute of Business Analysis.

Each month the chapter hosts a seminar on relevant topics for business analysts and other related capabilities. The talks are free for IIBA members and non-members, and are preceded by a networking session.

July’s topic is “Being Agile Vs Doing Agile”.

Agile is being thrown around like candy in the project and business analysis space, as organisations look for results and outcomes in a more timely and incremental way. Business Analysts are wondering how they understand the new world of agile and the value they bring in translating what the business wants to the people who are being asked to deliver the changes. This presentation comes from the other side of the fence; the developer’s view of agile. Hear from the recipients of our activities and outputs and understand what information developers are really looking for, their mindset and how to work together to expedite the outcomes stakeholders and organisations are seeking.

Speaker Biography – Erin Zimmer

Erin Zimmer is the head of Application & API Development for Geoscience Australia. Building on her 10 years’ experience working as a Software Developer across Government, Erin has been leading by example in the adoption of Agile at Geoscience Australia with her own team of developers for the last two years. She also undertook a 3 months secondment to Australia Post working as part of their Digital Delivery Centre, and was submersed in their Agile environment which is largely based on the SAFe methodology. Outside of work Erin enjoys bike riding and considers herself a super pro knitter.
