MyHospitals Website
When Cordelta was tasked with building a website to display national hospital performance statics and information the company rose to the challenge with an award-winning result. The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) required a high-performance website, which allowed the public to search and view hospital performance data from all public, and a number of private, hospitals across Australia. In addition to providing general profile information on each hospital MyHospitals presents information on how each public hospital performs compared to national average waiting times for elective surgery and emergency department care, lists the medical services provided and presents information on admission rates.
In the design of MyHospitals Cordelta worked to deliver a product that would not diminish with a use load of 2.1 million hits in the first 24 hours with a minimum peak of 500,000 hits per hour following its launch. Since going live on Friday, December 10, 2010 the website has had 32,000 concurrent users with 95 per cent of responses occurring within three seconds. Cordelta implemented a bespoke ASP.net, ISS, SQL Server 2008 R2 website that guaranteed uptimes and performance characteristics required of a highly public information service. The company ensured the site was WCAG 2.0 AA compliant and was secure with the ability to perform under load. In recognition of the outstanding quality of the product Cordelta was named by the Australian Information Industry Association as a joint winner of the iAward in the eGovernment category for the ACT for 2011. AIHW senior executive Alison Verhoeven said working with Cordelta was a positive experience. “As well as producing a quality, professional website that met all of our requirements, the team from Cordelta did so in a responsive, proactive and creative way,” she said. “Cordelta staff were dedicated to the project and responded promptly and enthusiastically to a scope of demands.
