eLearning ClassCordelta successfully introduced The Department of the Treasury to the world of eLearning through the implementation of a new training program. The Treasury staff required training in instructional design and the use of a rapid authoring tool. In addition Cordelta developed two eLearning modules and assisted with workplace mentoring and knowledge transfer to enhance the eLearning capabilities of department staff.

Cordelta instructional designer and trainer, Jodi Toleman, partnered with an internal department team to design and develop all aspects of the eLearning experience. She then assisted with its implementation into the department’s newly acquired Learning Management System. Jodi provided training needs analysis, prepared Instructional Design strategies and worked to storyboard courses with team members, focusing on required details. She also liaised with the graphic design team to develop course templates and icons ensuring a consistent quality branding for the department. Furthermore she provided team training in Adobe Captivate versions 5.5 and 6 authoring tool.

Jodi was further engaged by the Treasury to develop two eLearning modules and mentor staff in the development of additional courses. At this time she provided training and guidance to staff while liaising with subject matter experts to develop her own courses. Jodi also assisted with the implementation and administration of the Pulse LMS testing modules and functionality, creating evaluations as well as developing and maintaining an issues register.

Thanks to Jodi’s expertise and hard work department staff are now fully training in instructional design methodologies and Adobe Captivate. Templates and styles have been established for future development and eLearning has been implemented into the department and incorporated using its LMS – due for release in December 2012. Jodi was highly recommended by department participants who said “Jodi has been an absolute gem. She has applied her depth of experience and knowledge of both instructional design and Captivate to the training and mentoring of the group to great effect. Her friendly engaging manner makes learning easy for all of us…She has made such a difference to our ability to get up and running with eLearning in our organisation.”
