Cordelta is a member of over 25 panels with Commonwealth Government agencies, which give us access to a large number of contract opportunities. We endeavour to match our contractors to specific requirements, rather than simply pass through all of the opportunities we receive.
We also try to make sure the contractor will be a good fit for the role, which often involves more than a simple alignment of skills and experience. In many cases, our contractors act as de-facto consultants and we need to make sure they will be appropriate representatives for our company.
We have an experienced support team that will help you complete your application for a specific position, including guidance on how to respond to selection criteria. We can also provide guidance on rates, based on our knowledge of each agency and our experience in dealing with hundreds of applications each year.
We try to get you the best possible rate for your services, which can often be higher than the rate offered by large recruitment firms. That’s partly because of the rates we have negotiated with our clients, but also because we do our best to maintain competitive margins.
Unlike other organisations, we don’t lock in contractors with non-compete clauses for future contracts.
We don’t burden you with excessive administration during your contract, but will provide you with support when you need it.
Cordelta looks for contractors with relevant skills and experience, a focus on customer service and a track record of achievement, preferably supported by two or more referees.

We’ll look for contract opportunities that align with your skills and experience and send you details via email. If you’d like to be considered for one of these opportunities, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can let you know what you need to provide by way of a response. Once the submission has been lodged, our support team will be in touch to organise the interview (where applicable) or otherwise keep you up to date on the status of the submission.
If the client decides they would like to make you an offer, our team will be in contact to discuss the terms and a start date. We will send a contractor agreement to your payroll company and yourself. If you do not already have a payroll company, we have several we can recommend. We will organise where and whom you need to report to on your first day of work.
Contractors are required to send us and your payroll company a client signed timesheet for the previous month by the 2nd business day of each new month. You can use your agency’s timesheeting system, or our Contractor Monthly Timesheet if no other is available. Our payment terms are 30 days from the date of invoice from your payroll company.
